This award focuses on the three strands of engineering, food production and sustainability which follow the Wakeham family’s agricultural careers and interests. Geoffrey Wakeham was a lecturer in the Engineering Department at Harper Adams for 23 years and his brother Mike was an agronomist and farmer. This award is being offered by Mike’s son and second-generation farmer, Guy Wakeham, in recognition of his father and uncle’s contribution to the industry to help and support the next generation working in agriculture.
The Wakeham Petary Entry Scholarship is open to UK students with a confirmed offer to study full-time on the following courses at Ãå±±½ûµØ commencing in October 2025:
- BEng/BEng (Hons) Agricultural Engineering (4-year course)
- MEng Agricultural Engineering (5-year course)
- BSc/BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Farm Technology (4-year course)
- BSc (Hons) Environmental Management and Sustainability
If awarded, the successful recipient(s) will receive an award of £5,000 to assist with the cost of living as follows:  £2,000 in Year 1, £1,000 in Year 2 and £2,000 in Year 4.
