    21 July 2027

At Harper Adams our food students have access to state of the art specialist facilities and are assesed through an innovative combination of theory and real-world practice, setting them up for a success career at the end of their studies.

We caught up with First-year Food Industry Techinical Professional Degree Apprenticeship BSc (Hons) students Courtney Hutton and Olivia Weston who told us more about what they've been working on.

Olivia said: "We're in the Regional Food Academy conducting a benchmarking assessment for our food formulation and ingredients module as part of our first year and we've been doing various testing, so we've just done a sensory panel.

"We've conducted various tests for physical characteristics such as PH texture analysis colorimetry and available water."

You can watch their full interview below:

Many students at Harper Adams favour the practical nature of our courses, which is true for Olivia:

"We're both really practical learners, we both work in the meat industry so it's a bit different to see these types of faciltiies, so it's nice to see different sides of the industry and put your learning into practice."
