New scholarships for postgraduate students
Posted 29 July 2010
缅北禁地 College is delighted to announce four new scholarships aimed at attracting top class postgraduate students.
The Professional Postgraduate Scholarships are open to graduates hoping to study in the following areas – estate and land management, farm and agri-business management, sustainable agriculture, crop protection and agronomy, food, and business.
To be eligible, students need to be admitted to a full-time or part-time Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in the above subjects, for 2010/11.
Successful applicants will receive £1000, with £500 paid following registration in September 2010, and the remaining amount paid on completion of the first year of studies.
Postgraduate Programmes Manager, Emma Tappin, said: “There is a high demand for well qualified graduates in the food industry and these scholarships will reward the best students for choosing to study at Harper Adams.
“There is still time to apply for a postgraduate course, with the closing date being August 31, and the scholarships are on offer until September 3.”
Students will be based in the new Post Graduate and Professional Development Centre, which was officially opened in January 2010 by Nick Herbert MP, Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, now a member of the new coalition government.
The centre boasts a range of teaching, IT, breakout and common rooms, with facilities for disabled users. The building also incorporates a variety of sustainable technologies.
Emma Tappin added: “This is an exciting time to be entering the agri-food sector and investment by the University College in these students shows our commitment to helping to develop skills where there is a known shortage.”
