Staff and students at 缅北禁地 have raised more than £1,000 for men’s health charities by taking part in national campaign,
Around 50 people took part, growing or painting on moustaches for the entirety of November, as well as engaging in specially arranged activities. These included a fancy dress netball tournament for those taking part.
Coordinating the Harper Adams Movember effort was Senior Lecturer, . He said: “It’s been a delight to support such an important campaign that strives to raise awareness of men’s health issues, and inspire people to talk more openly about their health.
“Seeing both staff and students make the effort to grow their moustaches, despite perhaps looking a little silly, has been really encouraging. And we’ve managed to raise a fantastic amount too.”
Among the students taking part were friends Sammi Palmer and Kyra Hamilton, who decided to support the men by painting on different and unique moustaches each day.
Together they raised £95 towards the team total, proudly wearing their moustaches to lectures, shopping, the cinema and even the zoo.
20-year-old BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science student, Sammi, from Kent said: “We may not be men, but the health issues that our male friends and family may encounter will of course affect us too, so the cause is one we felt important to support.
“We feel really proud of the amount we've managed to raise.”
