Liam Sinclair, professor of animal science at Harper Adams, has been named as the new president of the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS).
Professor Sinclair is to be the 73rd president of the society, which has approximately 1,300 members. He said: “The BSAS aims to improve the understanding of animal science and the ways it can help ensure food is produced ethically and economically.
“I am delighted that I have been elected as the next president of BSAS. I see it as a great reflection of the animal science and research which is undertaken here at Harper Adams and the hard work done by my fellow colleagues.
“The highlight of my presidency will be the BSAS hosting the 67th annual European Association of Animal Production meeting.
“This is the largest animal science conference in Europe, with over 1,200 papers being submitted for presentation.
“It provides a unique opportunity for industry and scientists to meet, exchange experiences and work together to implement new science for maximum impact.
“The conference will be held in Belfast between August 29 and September 1.”
