“We are an institution with a strong focus on helping our students secure great jobs in everything from agriculture to zoology and engineering to the veterinary professions – and it is good to see this reflected in the Guide, which ranks us in the top 10 Universities in the UK for careers on track. That reflects what our own students say – both to us, and year-on-year in the national Graduates Outcomes survey."

Harper Adams has been ranked the second highest Modern University in the UK - and risen to become a top 40 institution overall - in this year’s Daily Mail University Guide.

The University was also sixth in the UK for the proportion of its students whose careers were on track 15 months after graduating and second among universities with fewer than 10,000 students in the new rankings, released yesterday afternoon.

The Guide’s author notes: “On the eve of its 125th anniversary, Harper Adams last year won the inaugural Specialist Institution of the Year award given by Times Higher Education magazine - a recognition of the sustained excellence that makes the university part of any conversation when it comes to considering land-based degrees and careers in farming.”

The University was rated joint 39th in the UK overall, second highest for Agriculture, Food and related Studies – and second in the country for research income.

The Editor added: “Harper Adams students are regularly Young Farmers of the Year across a variety of agricultural disciplines, and graduates make their mark in the working world once they leave, ranking the university in the top 10 nationally for students believing their careers to be on track 15 months after graduating.”

Harper Adams Vice-Chancellor Professor Ken Sloan said: “It is gratifying to see Harper Adams take a top 40 spot in this year’s Daily Mail Guide – and to be ranked second among the country’s modern Universities.

“We are an institution with a strong focus on helping our students secure great jobs in everything from agriculture to zoology and engineering to the veterinary professions – and it is good to see this reflected in the Guide, which ranks us in the top 10 Universities in the UK for careers on track. “Next month, we will mark the successes of the Class of 2026 at this year’s Graduation Ceremonies – before holding the first two events in a series marking our historic 125th year.

“At each of these, our students, staff, industry partners, alumni, and more will all come together and recognise what makes Harper Adams special – and they should all feel part of today’s success as well.”
